The ultimate goal is to provide a state of harmony between body and mind that helps soothe the nerves, anxiety, depression and greatly improves the immune system.

Massages are different objectives, from reducing stress levels to combat cellulite. Massage relaxes the muscles, tones the body and helps reduce localized fat.

How can people get more active? Physical inactivity, combined with excessive intake of energy products, greatly contributes to overweight and obesity. The Dr. John Kearney, Scientific Director of European Food Studies Institute, said in a recent European study (1) that:

From the standpoint of public health, the gradual increase in physical activity of the population (about all of those who routinely lead a sedentary lifestyle) would be very beneficial to stem the obesity epidemic is expanding rapidly.

With regard to other factors linked to lifestyle (such as smoking and diet) to achieve a lasting change you need to know in depth the trends and the opinion of the population. The European Food Studies Institute (IEEA) recently conducted a community survey in which 15,339 consumers consulted (about 1,000 adults in each Member State) on their readiness for physical activity, weight and health as well as their activity levels, weight and height (the numbers correspond to their statements).

Weight loss is easier if you combine the change in eating habits with increased physical activity. The exercise is considered much more effective in preventing overweight and obesity than to treat them. However, according to survey results, consumers seem more sensitive to food to exercise, when it comes to avoiding weight gain.
